Danette Reid, author and motivational speaker, is a native of Wilmington, DE. She is an ordinary woman whose life has been made richer because she serves an extraordinary God. His blessings in her life are many and include three wonderful gifts; her husband George, and children Danae' and George "Tre" III. She holds a B.S. in Business Management from West Chester University and currently owns and operates the Danette M. Reid Insurance Agency, Inc. Once deemed “friend to the friendless,” Danette has always motivated and encouraged her family and friends to follow their dreams. After journaling for several years, God laid it on her heart to begin sharing her gift of creative writing to encourage others using experiences from her personal life. Submitting to His will, “Midweek Motivation,” was created in August, 2007 and is delivered to a growing number of readers' inboxes from all over the country every Wednesday. "Today's Ruby," small inspirational nuggets began in August, 2009 to complement "Midweek Motivation" and the her first collection, "Jewels From My Journey" was released in September, 2009. She recognizes to whom much is given, much is required so she gives back to her community in numerous ways including serving on the boards of the Hospitality and Trustee Ministries of the Zion Baptist Church (Ambler, PA - Pastor Gerald L Chapman, Sr.); the Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; and as a parent facilitator for I.M.A.G.I.N.E. (I'm a Girl. Intelligent, Noble & Educated) youth group.
Danette & her family currently reside in Pennsylvania with their dog Cupid.
